Safety instructions
In case of damage caused by non-observance of these operating instructions, the
warranty gets void! We are not liable for any consequential damage!

We are not liable for property damage or injuries caused by improper use or non-
observance of safety instructions! Such circumstances will void the warranty!
a) General
•  Unauthorized modifications and/or alterations to the product are not permitted due to safety and
approval reasons (CE). Do not disassemble the product.
•  Have maintenance or repairs done by qualified personnel only.
•  Do not leave packaging material unattended, as children could use it as a toy creating hazardous
situations.
b) Power adapter
•  The power adapter features a protection class II design. Only use a proper wall socket as voltage
source for the power adapter.
Connect the power adapter to a wall socket that can be accessed easily.
•  Only use the power adapter provided for the power supply of the splitter.
•  Never pull the cable when disconnecting the power adapter from the wall socket. Hold the power
adapter at the sides of the enclosure and then pull it from the wall socket.
•  If the power adapter is damaged, do not touch it. There is a risk of fatal electric shock!
First disconnect the mains voltage supplying the wall socket to which the power adapter is connec-
ted (turn off the respective circuit breaker or remove the fuse, then turn off the ground fault circuit
interrupter in order to disconnect all poles of the wall socket from the mains voltage).
Only then disconnect the power adapter from the wall socket. Dispose of the damaged power
adapter properly. Do not use it anymore. Replace it with a power adapter of identical construction.
c) Operation
•  The device is not a toy. Keep devices to be operated by mains supply away from children. Use
extreme caution when children are present.
Operate the product out of reach of children.
•  The product is only suitable for use in dry, closed indoor areas. The complete product must not
become wet or damp. Never touch the product with wet hands!
In regard to the power adapter, there is a risk of fatal electric shock!
•  Avoid the following adverse conditions at the location where the product is placed, and during
transport:
  -  wetness or high humidity
  -  cold or heat and direct sunlight
 -  dust or flammable gases, vapors or solvents
  -  severe vibration and blows of any kind
 -  strong magnet fields, such as near machines or speakers
•  Do not place any objects on the splitter. Never cover the splitter.
•  Select a stable, flat and horizontal surface of sufficient size for installation.
•  Never use the product immediately after it has been brought from a cold room into a warm one. The
condensation generated could destroy the product. A wall plug transformer also poses the risk of
fatal injury due to electric shock!
Version 02/14
Allow the device to reach room temperature before connecting and using it. This may take several
hours.
•  When setting up the device, ensure that the cable does not get kinked or crushed.
•  Handle the product with care; impacts, blows or falling from even low heights can cause damage.
Operating modes
In order to operate the splitter and the monitor/TV connected to the splitter and the playback device
used, use the “A/B” slide switch to select one of the two operating modes.
Only change the operating mode when the splitter is switched off, as the mode will other-
wise not be recognized.
Operating mode “A”
Select this operating mode when connecting monitors/TVs with different resolutions to the splitter.
The splitter analyses the EDID information of all connected monitors/TVs and thus selects the re-
solution/colour depth that all devices support the least. The splitter then transfers these data to the
Blu-ray player.
When, for example, connecting three 1080p monitors (colour depth of 12 bit) and one 720p monitor
(colour depth of 8 bit) to the splitter, the splitter will transfer the 720p resolution and 8 bit colour depth
information to the Blu-ray player. The Blu-ray player will then play the movie with 720p resolution/
8 bit colour depth.
If the Blu-ray player does not feature an automatic function for switching playback resolu-
tion/colour depth (or if this function has been deactivated), you will have to set the lowest
common resolution/ colour depth supported by all connected monitors/TVs yourself.
Otherwise some of the monitors/TVs connected to the splitter might not show any pic-
ture.
The same also applies for the connection of 4K monitors or for operation in 3D.
Operating mode “B”
The splitter analyses the EDID information received from the monitor/TV at output 1 (“Output 1”). It
then transfers these information (e.g. resolution and colour depth) to the Blu-ray player.
If no monitor/TV is connected to output 1 (or if connected but switched off), the splitter will use the
next output (2 -> 3 -> 4) respectively.
When, for example, connecting a 3D-compatible monitor to output 1, the Blu-ray player provides a
3D signal (provided your Blu-ray player and movie are suitable). This feature will then be available
at all outputs.
When selecting the operating mode “B”, the monitor/TV with the lowest resolution/colour depth should
always be connected to output 1.
If the Blu-ray player does not feature an automatic function for switching the playback
resolution/colour depth (or if this function has been deactivated), you will have to set the
correct/desired resolution/colour depth yourself using the menu of the Blu-ray player.
Some monitors/TVs connected to the splitter might otherwise not show any picture.
Connection and operation
•  Select a suitable place for installation of the splitter. When installing the splitter, use a suitable
padding to protect sensitive furniture from scratches, spots or impressions.
•  Connect the HDMI outputs (“Output”) to your monitors/TVs using suitable HDMI-compatible cab-
les.
•  Connect the HDMI input (“Input”) to the respective output, e.g. that of a Blu-ray player.
•  Use the “A/B” slide switch to select the desired operating mode (see previous chapter).
When connecting different monitors/TVs with unknown information on resolution/colour
depth, operating mode “A” should be selected primarily.
Use operating mode “B” when connecting the monitor/TV with the lowest resolution/colour
depth to output 1 or if you want to intentionally predefine the resolution/colour depth of the
monitor/TV at output 1 for all devices connected.
•  Connect the circular low-voltage plug of the provided power adapter to the matching socket on the
splitter.
•  Connect the power adapter to a wall socket.
•  Turn on the splitter using the on/off switch (switch position “I” = On, “O” = Off). The power LED lights
up.
•  Turn on the Blu-ray player.
•  Switch on all monitors/TVs. The respective LED (1, 2, 3 or 4) on the front of the splitter lights up.
