Intended use
The fl exible solar mats are foldable, small and lightweight and produce electrical current in daylight by means
of the inbuilt solar cells. They are intended for charging and supporting operation by car and motorcycle bat-
teries, mobile emergency power supplies (special rechargeable batteries) and various small devices such as
laptops, mobile phones, satellite phones, etc. that can be operated with low voltage. Thus, the solar mats are
ideally suited for use when camping and on expeditions.
Depending on the mat, a maximum of 5 W, 10 W or 20 W connected load is available. For devices that can-
not process the maximum voltage or current (in good light conditions, in some cases, over 20 V open-circuit
voltage is available) and/or do not have suitable electronic voltage and current controls, appropriate solar
charging controls must be connected before the device.

Safety Instructions
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe these safety
instructions! We do not assume any liability for any consequential damage!

We do not assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by improper use
or non-compliance with the safety instructions. In such cases, the warranty will be null
and void.

•   The product may not be altered or modifi ed; otherwise the warranty will be void.

•   Do not subject the solar mats to any signifi cant mechanical loads or extreme climatic condi-
tions.

•   The solar mats are protected against water spray (e.g. rain). Thus, the system design allows
for use outdoors. To avoid damaging the panels by water penetration, do not clean the solar
mats with pressurized water cleaning devices (steam jet). Contravention with result in loss of
guarantee/warranty!

•   For many products, connecting non-original accessories will also result in the loss of warranty
for these devices. Find out in advance from the manufacturer of the device to be connected or
from a specialist shop.

•   Extra care should be taken when starting up the system. In doing so, observe these operating
instructions as well as the instructions for the connected devices.

•   Improper installation and cabling of the solar mats can cause damage to the electrical system
or the connected device, including important computer and operating systems. This could lead
to an accident or fi re, which could result in material damage and/or serious personal injury. We
recommend a qualifi ed electrician performs and explains the initial connection.

•   During installation, make sure that neither the connection cables nor the solar mats are
pinched or damaged by sharp edges.

•   The solar mats become hot from use and solar radiation. Risk of burns!

•   Dirt (especially sand), rain or snow can affect the function of the solar mats and reduce the
performance.

•  The solar mats are not toys and should be kept out of the reach of children.

•   Do not leave packaging materials unattended. It could become a dangerous toy for children.

•   Please, also observe the additional safety instructions in each individual section of these
instructions.

•   If you have any questions, which are not answered in this manual, please contact our techni-
cal service or another specialist.
Installation, Setup and Connecting the Solar Mat
During installation, make sure pointed or sharp objects in the area do not destroy the panels and
thus impair the function or render the mat completely unusable. The warranty will be void! At low
outdoor temperatures, the panels become stiff. This is a normal process. Avoid any unnecessary
bending or twisting of the solar mats at low temperatures, to avoid breaking the panels.
There are eyes at the corners of the solar mats, which are used to secure the mats in place. Hang and/or
brace the solar mats with suitable material (screws; rubber bands, cable ties, etc.; not included) e.g. on a
backpack or a tent wall, so the panels point as directly as possible at the sun. The panels are then ready to
use and can provide power to connected devices. Before connecting devices, make sure that the correct
polarity is available and the connected devices can handle the voltage and current levels provided by the
solar mats without being damaged.
To connect the solar mats, there is a connector on the back of the mats. The extension cable included in
the package connects to this connector. The plug/socket are coded and can only be connected in one way.
Because this socket connection is protected against by rubber seals against water spray, you must push
them together with a little extra force until they click into place. You can now connect your devices, using a
suitable cigarette lighter plug (not included), to the socket on the extension cable. The positive pole is the
inner contact.
The highest power is achieved if you orient the solar mat directly towards the sun at an angle
corresponding to the position of the sun.

The power output can be increased by connecting several solar mats together in parallel.

During rain or snowfall, we recommend the mats be removed from the installation point to a
protected area. This will prevent the mats from becoming soaked through.
To disconnect the extension cable from the solar mat, gently raise the small hooks on the connection plug
and unplug the extension cable.
The plug connection “solar mat/extension cable” must be disconnected with a little extra force.
This may cause injury, from moulded pieces of the jack (e.g. the locking catch), if handled incor-
rectly!
Cleaning
The solar mats are protected against penetrating water spray (e.g. rain). During cleaning, to
avoid damaging the panels by penetrating water jets, do not clean the solar mats with pressu-
rized water cleaning devices (steam jet). Contravention with result in loss of guarantee/warranty!
Occasionally, check how soiled the panels are and clean them with a moistened, lint-free cloth.
