AD-2 Heater Voltage/Wattage
This bulletin supersedes information previously published in bulletin PRO-08-11.
The Bendix AD-2 air dryer and end cover is available with either 12 or 24 volt heater
assembly. The 12 volt heater is available in 60 watt (5 AMPS) configuration only while
the 24 volt versions are available in either a 60 watt (2.5 AMPS) or 120 watt (5 AMPS)
configuration. If the air dryer or end cover assembly part number is unknown, the
voltage and wattage can be determined by checking the information cast into the end
cover (refer to the figure). The 24V-120 watt heater is most often used in extreme cold
weather operation since its heating ability exceeds that of the 24V-60 watt unit.
