Color misregistration

Make sure that the drum unit is installed properly.

Make sure that the belt unit is installed properly.

Make sure that the waste toner box is installed properly.

Perform the auto color registration by using the control panel (see Auto
Registration on page 91) or perform the manual color registration by using the
control panel (see Manual Registration on page 92).

If the color mis-registration is not corrected after registering the color
manually, take all the toner cartridges out of the drum unit and turn the drum
unit over, then make sure that four drum unit gears are in the home position.
The home position of each drum can be identified by matching the number on
the drum unit gear to the same number on the side of the drum unit as shown
in the illustration.

Put in a new drum unit. (See Replacing the drum unit on page 106.)

Put in a new belt unit. (See Replacing the belt unit on page 112.)

Uneven density appears
periodically across the page

Identify the color that is uneven and put in a new toner cartridge for that color.

Put in a new drum unit. (See Replacing the drum unit on page 106.)

Missing image at edge

Put in a new toner cartridge. (See Replacing a toner cartridge on page 99.)

Put in a new drum unit. (See Replacing the drum unit on page 106.)

Missing image at thin line

If you use Windows printer driver, choose Improve pattern printing or Improve
Thin Line in Print Setting of Advanced tab. (See Device Options on page 42.)
