2.  Type java -version in the command line and press ENTER. The 

currently-installed version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 
appears. 

 

3.  If the JRE is version 1.4.2_05 or greater, proceed with the MPC 

installation. If the version is older, please go to the Apple website to 
download the latest Runtime Environment. 

 

Installing MPC for Mac OSX 

You must have administrative privileges to install MPC. 

1.  Log on to your Macintosh. 

2.  Download, or copy from a known location, the MPC-installer.jar 

installation file. 

3.  Open a Finder window and locate where the installer was saved. 

4.  Double click on the file named MPC-installer.jar to run the installer.
