6.3 INSTALLATION 
6.3.1 General 
Installation and commissioning of the Outstation is carried out in the following 
order: 
   
- Configure the Outstation PCB via PCB switches 
   
- Install PCB in Controller and Connect the cabling 
   
- Configure the Outstation using the Handset terminal 
 
The parameters that need configuring include: 
 
Output power level. Warning - for use in the UK the power level must not be set to 
greater than -13 dBm. 
Receive Threshold 
2 or 4 wire line connection 
600 Ohm or High Impedance line termination 
Baud Rate/Mode 
Outstation Address 
Number of Outstations on the line 
Number of control bytes for all Outstations on the line 
Number of reply bytes for all Outstations on the line 
Reply Bit Function 
Fault Flag and Data Displays 
LMU Information 
 
(1), (2), (3) and (4) above are configured using switches on the Outstation PCB, as 
described below. 
 
ALL others are configured using the handset terminal. 
 
6.3.2  Configuring the Integral OTU PCB 
Figure 31 shows a diagram of the Integral OTU PCB layout. The position of the 
switches, connectors and status LEDs are shown. 
 
Ensure that the correct variant of the PCB has been supplied against the Works 
Specification, if this is available. 
 
6.3.2.1 Safety Warning 
The TC12 Integral OTU PCB contains a lithium battery, B1 on Figure 34. Care 
must be taken with the use and disposal of this battery. The handling precautions 
in code of practice CP526 must be followed. 
6.3.2.2 Cover 
The PCB is fitted with a cover (part number 667/2/25192/000 front, 
667/2/25193/000 rear).
