NOTE:  Update the GDL 39 firmware in order to take advantage of the Bluetooth 
connectivity improvements in Garmin Pilot version 7.0 and later.

1)  Ensure that the iPad and GDL 39 are connected to a reliable external power 

source.

2)  From any page touch Home > Connext.
3)  Touch the GDL 39 Tab. 
4)  Touch Update Firmware.  (The 'Update Firmware' button is only 

displayed when an update is available).  The Release Notes Window is 
displayed.

5)  After reading the release notes touch Continue.
