 Commercial Vehicle Systems has determined that a defect that relates to motor vehicle safety exists in

the Trailer System-Guard Air Dryer.  A product recall has been issued.

The defect is that the retaining bolts for the reed valve covers on either end of the Trailer System-Guard air dryer
may crack, causing the bolt heads to come off.  If this occurs, the trailer can lose service braking and/or the trailer
parking brakes can engage without warning.  There have been no reports of any accidents or injuries.

The Trailer System-Guard Air Dryer piece numbers below are to be removed and replaced with service piece
number 800765.  These piece numbers will include a reinforcing strap over the reed valve cover and additional
mounting hardware (shown) that will isolate the Trailer System-Guard from the mounting surface to prevent
stress from being placed on the unit.

When installing the new air dryer it is important to follow the Installation Instruction Sheet (S-1279) included
with the product to assure proper installation.

Do not attempt to modify the existing air dryer or install the mounting hardware kit on the old Trailer System-
Guard.

Return any old versions of the Trailer System-Guard to your distributor, dealer or service plant.  If further
