A functional fault can have the following effect:

The gearbox only shifts into certain gears.

The reverse gear R cannot be used.
•
The manual shift programme (Tiptronic) is switched off in the emer-
gency mode.
If the gearbox has switched over to emergency mode, drive to the
nearest specialist garage in order to have the fault rectified.
