Parts of the Camera

The Selector
Press the selector up (w), 
left (e), right (r), or 
down (t)  to highlight 
items and press MENU/OK 
(q) to select.  The up, left, 
right, and down buttons 
also double as function 
buttons 2 through 5.

To choose a shooting mode, 
rotate the mode dial to the 
desired setting.

S (ADVANCED SR AUTO)

: The camera automatically opti-

mizes settings to the scene.

B (AUTO):

 A simple “point-and-shoot” mode recom-

mended for fi rst-time users of digital cameras.

: Aperture and shutter speed can be adjusted using 

program shift.

, A, M: Select for full control over camera settings, in-

cluding aperture (M and A) and/or shutter speed (M 
and S).

•  Filter (ADVANCED FILTER)

: Select for taking photos with 

fi lter eff ects.

•  Adv. (ADVANCED)

: Sophisticated techniques made easy.

•  SP1/SP2 (SCENE POSITION)

: Choose a scene suited to the 

subject or shooting conditions and let the camera do 
the rest.

u (MOTION PANORAMA 360)

: Pan the camera to take a 

series of shots that are automatically joined into a 
panorama.
