PREPARING THE APPLIANCE
Before mounting on back, fit shoulder strap (13) and harness (12) with belt. Follow
the directions below and see illustrations for how to fit straps. Ensure straps are
kept flat to prevent them twisting or knotting.
Fitting shoulder strap
1.  Place appliance vertical with handle (7) and harness holes (24) facing you.
2.  Check the straps are in the right way round:
             a.  Shoulder straps with long straps upwards and buckles downwards.
             b.  Buckles are to face outwards (away from the appliance).
             c.  When holding shoulder straps against the appliance, just under the
handle, the end of the right strap should naturally bow out to the right, and
the end of the left strap to the left.
3.  Fit each shoulder strap as follows:
             a.  Pass the long strap at the top of the
shoulder strap away from itself through
the lower flat harness hole just under the
             carrying handle.
             b.  Pull the strap back on itself through
             the upper harness hole.
             c.  Pass the strap up through the rear
             (upper) slot in the buckle.
             d.  Pass the strap down through the front
             (lower) slot in the buckle.
             e.  Tighten strap.
Fitting harness and belt
1.  Place appliance vertically with carrying handle facing you and shoulder straps
fitted (see above).
2.  Lay harness flat in front of appliance with straps and buckles facing upwards.
3.  Ensure the side with the belt and our long straps is facing in towards the
appliance (away from you).
4.  Fit each of the two long straps as follows:
             a.  Pass the strap away from itself through
             the lower diagonal hole.
             b.  Pass the strap up through the middle slot
in the buckle at the bottom of the shoulder
             strap.
             c.  Pass the strap down through the front
             (lower) slot in the buckle.
             d.  Tighten gently but not too much, to make
it easy to put appliance on back.
5.  NOTE: Avoid getting shoulder straps in the way
when fitting the other straps. Fold them back (away from you) when fitting the
others.
6.  Fit each of the two short straps on the middle
of the harness (near belt) as follows:
             a.  Pass the strap away from you
through the innermost of the two vertical
             harness holes.
             b.  Pass the strap towards you through
the outermost of the two vertical harness
             holes.
             c.  Pass the strap up through the front
slot in the harness buckle (just under the
             curved edge).
             d.  Pass the strap down through the rear slot in harness buckle.
             e.  Tighten as much as possible.
7.  Pass the two Velcro straps on top of the harness between the black plastic plate
and appliance. Ensure they are totally flat on top of each other and clip them
together to ensure the harness is held in place against the appliance. This can
require a little dexterity.
Fitting exhaust filter
•  Placer filter pad (10) in the exhaust filter (9). Check the hooks on the inside of the
filter fit into the holes on the pad.
•  Fit exhaust filter into its hole (5) with the studs in the bottom fitting into the holes
in the bottom edge of the hole.
•  Press into place fitting the stud in the top of the filter under the release button (4)
with a click.
Motor filter bag, dust bag and lid
•  Open lid (21) by pressing in the two lock studs (22) on the sides and pulling
upwards.
•  Check motor filter bag (8) is fitted correctly (see Replacing Dust Bag below).
•  Check dust bag (19) is fitted correctly (see Replacing Dust Bag below).
•  Replace lid, ensuring that it will allow the hose connector (23) to be on the side
you want (depending on which hand you will use to operate the vacuum cleaner
with).
•  Press lid down until both lock tabs click into place.
Fitting hose and nozzle
8.  Fit hose (1) to appliance as follows:
a.  Connect hose to connector on side of lid.
b.  Turn anticlockwise as far as possible.
9.  Fit telescopic tube to handle (2) at opposite end of hose.
10. Fit nozzle required (14, 15, 17 or 18) to telescopic tube.
