TAPE PLAYER OPERATION
Cassette Door/Insert
To access the cassette door, located behind the
front panel, press the OPEN button (21). The
front panel will open and fold down to the
horizontal position, allowing room to insert a
cassette into the player. To insert a cassette,
hold the cassette with the exposed tape edge of
the side to be played to the right and insert it
fully into the cassette door. As the cassette is
engaged and begins playing, “TAPE” appears
on the display panel accompanied by the tape
symbol (
). Direction of play is indicated by
an animated curser which moves in a square
pattern. Clockwise rotation indicates left-to-right
tape motion, while counter-clockwise rotation
indicates right-to-left tape motion. When the
cassette reaches the end of one side, the unit
automatically changes direction of play as
shown by the arrow indications on the display
panel.
Fast-Forward/Rewind
Buttons
The fast forward and rewind buttons cause the
tape to move rapidly in the direction indicated
by the arrows. If the fast-forward (
) button is
pushed when the tape is moving from left to
right, the tape quickly advances forward. If the
rewind (
) button is pressed while the tape is
moving from right to left, the tape rewinds. To
stop fast tape movement, lightly push the
opposite button. If the tape is allowed to fast-
forward or rewind all the way to the end, play
automatically starts from the beginning.
Tape Program Selector
To manually reverse tape direction and play the
other side of the cassette, lightly push both the
fast-forward and rewind buttons (25) at the
same time. The change of direction is indicated
by the animated cursor on the display panel.
Tape Eject Button
To stop tape playback and eject the tape, press
the tape eject   button (26), located behind the
front panel. If the button is not visible, press the
OPEN button (21) to release the front panel and
lower it to the horizontal position. Radio
operation resumes when the cassette is
ejected.
NOTE: To avoid damage to the cassette or
radio, remove the cassette when not in use.
