SECTION 1: TRACTOR AND DECK PREPARATION
Connect the Battery
The tractor is shipped with a sealed
battery. The positive battery cable has
been connected at the factory, but the
negative cable must be connected.

• Open the tractor hood and remove
the upper baffle of the bulkhead
from the front of the dash panel by
lifting upward on the locking tab on
each side of the baffle.

• Remove the protective cap from the
negative terminal of the battery.
• Connect the black battery cable to
the negative battery post. Slide

and reinstall the upper baffle.

Attach the Chute Deflector
The chute deflector may have been
factory installed. If so, disregard now,
but use these instructions if replace-
ment of the chute deflector is ever
necessary.

Remove the hex cap screws, bell
washers and hex nuts at the chute
opening of the deck .

Position the hinge bracket of the
deflector assembly to align with the
holes and insert the hex cap screws
from the underside of the deck. Secure
with the bell washers and hex nuts.
Note: the crowned (rounded) surface of
the washers go toward the hex nuts.
