Problem
Cause

RFID reader does not 
turn on.
Lithium-ion battery 
not charged.
Charge or replace the lithium-ion battery in the RFID reader.
Lithium-ion battery 
not installed properly.
Ensure battery is installed properly. See

System crash.
Perform a warm boot. If the RFID reader still does not turn on, 
perform a cold boot. See 
.
Rechargeable 
lithium-ion battery did 
not charge.
Battery failed. 
Replace battery. If the RFID reader still does not operate, try a 
warm boot, then a cold boot. See 
RFID reader removed 
from cradle while 
battery was charging. 
Insert RFID reader in cradle and begin charging. The lithium-ion 
battery requires less than four hours to recharge fully.
Cannot see characters 
on display.
RFID reader not 
powered on.
Press the Power button.
During data 
communication, no data 
was transmitted, or 
transmitted data was 
incomplete.
RFID reader removed 
from cradle or 
unplugged from host 
computer during 
communication.
Replace the RFID reader in the cradle, or reattach the 
Synchronization cable and re-transmit.
Incorrect cable 
configuration.
