Undercranking and Overcranking
Undercranking, also called fast motion, is setting the
Incoming
Frame Rate
 lower than the
Base Frame Rate
 (24, 30, or 25 fps)
which results in video playback that appears faster than the
Base Frame Rate
For example, if the
Base Frame Rate
is set to 24 fps (720/24P
input stream), set the
Incoming Frame Rate
 to 12. When the file
is played back at the base rate (24 fps) the result is video
playback at twice normal speed.
Overcranking, also called slow motion, is setting the frame rate
higher than the
Base Frame Rate
 which results in video playback
that appears slower than the
Base Frame Rate
For example, if the
Base Frame Rate
is set to 24 fps (720/24P
input stream), set the
Incoming Frame Rate
 to 48. When the file
is played back at the base rate (24 fps) the result is a video
playback at half normal speed.
During playback on the FS-100 the video will display at full
frame rate. Video on overcranked recordings will playback
slower than normal video speed and undercranked video will
playback faster.
VFR Mode Setting Not Saved
The VFR MODE setting is automatically set to OFF upon power-down.
This setting must be changed for VFR recordings for every power-cycle.
