Hands-free Recording
The recorder can be used as a hands-free recording
device. To setup the recorder for hands-free
operation, connect the optional Olympus foot switch
(RS27/28) to the back of the cradle and place the
recorder in the cradle as shown in the diagram below.
You can set Hands-free operation of the
recorder to [Dictation] (default) or
[Transcription] by using the customize
functions of DSS Player (
☞P.68) and change
the allocation function to Foot Pedal.
For more details, refer to the online help for
DSS Player (
☞P.73).
Recording Monitor
It is possible to monitor your recording by
listening to the recording while recording is in
progress. Insert the earphone plug into the
earphone jack and use the + or – button to
control the volume level.
Notes
• The Olympus foot switch (RS27/28) is sold separately.
• Move the slide switch of the recorder to the STOP
position before connecting it to the cradle for hands-
free recording.
• To record with better quality using the hands-free
recording function, set the microphone sensitivity to
[Conference] mode, or use an external microphone.
Note
• Insert the plugs to the end as shown in the illustration
when inserting the earphone or external microphone.
