Fingerprint reader board (includes cable, bracket, grommet, and screw)

Before removing the fingerprint reader board, follow these steps:

Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the

computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.

Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.

Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet,

and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.

Remove the battery (see 

Remove the following components:

a. Service door (see 

b. Keyboard (see 

Top cover (see 

Remove the fingerprint reader board:

Position the top cover upside-down.

Disconnect the fingerprint reader board cable from the audio board (1).

Remove the Phillips PM2.0×3.0 screw (2) that secures the fingerprint reader board bracket to the

top cover.

Pull the bracket toward bottom edge of the top cover to pull it out from slot (3), and remove it from

the top cover (4).
