This section explains how to install an optional Option Card into a Vanguard 6455 
enclosure. (Option Cards do not operate in a Vanguard 6435.) For a detailed 
description of the SDB 4-Port Sync/Async card, including information about DIP 
switch settings, turn to the  “Vanguard 6455 Option Cards” section in Chapter 2.

Figure 3-15 explains how to install an Option Card into a Vanguard 6455.

To prevent injury, be sure to power down the unit and disconnect the power cord 
before you remove the Option Card.

Make sure the power is off before installing the cards or the cards could be damaged.

Some components used in the 6435/6455 are sensitive to static electric discharges; 
static electric discharges can cause damage to internal components. Use proper 
handling and grounding precautions whenever handling cards and components.

Certains composants du 6435/6455 sont sensibles aux décharges électrostatiques qui 
peuvent les endommager. Prenez les dispositions et précautions de mise à la terre 
nécessaires lors de la manipulation de cartes et de composants.
