You need to configure the communications settings on the ION meter that serves
as a gateway.

Once the gateway meter is installed and the internal modem is connected, use

Set the internal modem baud rate, Unit ID and protocol (for most applications

If you have an ION 7300 Series meter select

as the protocol. The baud rate
for this port must be the same as all other communicating ports.

simultaneously.
