Clock Commands

The polling interval is 64 seconds.

Global Configuration mode

If a user enters a value which is not an exact power of two, the nearest power-

of-two value is applied.

The following example sets the polling time for the Simple Network Time 

Protocol (SNTP) client to 1024 seconds.

console(config)# sntp client poll timer 1024

Use the sntp server command in Global Configuration mode to configure an 

SNTP server address or a host name. The server address can be either an IPv4 

address or an IPv6 address. Use the no form of this command to unconfigure 

an SNTP server address or a host name.

sntp server {

ip-address | ipv6-address | hostname} 

no sntp server {

ip-address | ipv6-address | hostname}

•

ip-address — IP address of the server. 

•

hostname — Hostname of the server. (Range: 1-158 characters) 

This command does not require a parameter description.

This command has no default configuration.
