SNMP COMMUNITY NAMES CONFIGURATION SCREEN
When to Use
To set SNMP Management community names. Community names act as passwords to
Local/Remote Management and are agents of security access to the switch module. Access is
controlled by enacting any of three different levels of security authorization (read-only, read-write,
and super-user).
How to Access
Use the arrow keys to highlight the SNMP COMMUNITY NAMES CONFIGURATION menu
item on the SNMP Configuration Menu screen and press ENTER. The SNMP Community Names
Configuration screen,
NOTE: If the 6C105 has been assigned community names, it is not necessary to assign
community names to the individual switch modules installed in the chassis unless you
wish to limit access to 6C105 chassis screens by assigning different community names
to the switch module(s). When this is done, the CHASSIS menu item of the Main Menu
screen will not display, and access will be limited to the screens specific to the switch
module attached to the terminal.
Super-user access gives you full management privileges, allows existing passwords to
be changed, and all modifiable MIB objects to be edited.
