Remove the melted butter as it cannot be used 
for making Chocolate Cake even if it re-solidifies. 
To make softened butter, it is either allow the 
butter to stand to room temperature or cut 
butter into 1-inch chucks and placed between 
sheets of wax paper and pound with a rolling pin 
once on each side.
