HP Output Distributor is an add-on module to HP Output Server,

 the core platform to any HP Output Management 

solution—the intelligent link that gets critical documents from virtually any application to nearly any destination reliably, 

efficiently, and cost-effectively. HP Output Distributor works to extend the basic reliability capabilities of HP Output 
Server with a rigorous rule engine for bursting and bundling documents into multiple sub-documents, while 

automatically delivering and tracking those sub-documents. HP Output Distributor delivers precisely the information 

each co-worker, partner, or vendor needs—all at the same time! 

Precise delivery 

• 

Refine report deliveries. HP Output Distributor makes it 
easy to customize the content it sends, so that 

recipients get only the information they need. And 

because the software maintains end-to-end control and 
delivery tracking, it lets you stop worrying whether the 

information was received or not. 

• 

Burst and bundle. After capturing a report from an 

application, the software applies powerful rules-based 

processing to burst each report into sections. The rules 
engine looks for specified fields in the report—page 

numbers, cost centers, or geographic regions, for 

example—to identify sections that are relevant to 
specific users. The appropriate sections are bundled 

together and automatically delivered according to the 
rules established for each user, reducing costs and 

increasing distribution speeds.

Get faster throughput. Complex processes are not a 

problem with enhanced performance capabilities and 

scalability. Now documents can be burst, bundled, and 
delivered with ease. 

Easy for IT and end users 

• 

Simplify delivery. HP Output Distributor simplifies every 
aspect of report distribution. A Windows®-based 

administrative graphical-user interface (GUI) makes it 

possible for non-programmers to configure reports in 
the system. Operational GUIs make it easier to track 

problematic deliveries and re-deliver without re-running 

the report. Traditionally “maintenance-heavy” user 
administration functions are dramatically simplified.

Deploy without additional training. End users will 

appreciate the ease of use. IT creates rules according 

to each end user’s specific need. Each end user sees a 
customized list of output destinations, so proper 

distribution is intuitive and effort is minimal.

Rely on its compatibility. HP Output Distributor supports 

multiple server and network platforms and can work 

with several applications at the same time. There is no 
new client software for users to learn. The add-on 

module integrates easily into existing operations with 
little change to the way systems function. 

Flexible distribution

Accommodate diverse clients. The software 

personalizes reports based not only on content, but 
also on format. Users have a choice of receiving 

reports through any delivery method that is convenient 
for them: print, fax, email, web, FTP, or wireless 

device.

Post online. With another add-on module, HP Web 

Delivery, users receive email notification with a URL 

link to their report. Users can then access reports with a 
standard web browser. An add-on module like  

HP Output Distributor or HP Web Delivery also 

provides the necessary security to allow external 
partners and suppliers to access important information
