Planning your Escape for when the Alarm
goes off
Use the Smoke Alarm Test Button to familiarize your family with
the Alarm sound and to practice fire drills regularly with all family
members. Draw up a floor plan that will show each member at
least 2 escape routes from each room in the house. Children

how to escape, open windows, and use roll up fire ladders and
stools without adult help. Make sure they know what to do if the

What is the best Smoke Alarm - Optical or
Ion ?
Both types respond in all standard fires but each type may re-
spond faster to particular fires as shown. The EI company
manufactures two complementary 9 volt Smoke Alarms , Opti-
