Use a charger when scanning, defragmenting or formatting 
the hard drive.

You can scan your hard drive to find and fix possible errors. 
The problems are fixed automatically.

After the scanning is completed you will be informed 
of the results. 

It is recommendable to scan the hard drive before 
defragmenting it.

To optimize your hard drive, select

You will be informed when the defragmentation is completed.

When the hard drive is formatted, all data on the drive is 
permanently lost. Back up data you want to keep before 
formatting the hard drive. You can use Nokia PC Suite to 
back up data to a compatible PC. If your device needs to be 
repaired or replaced, a back-up copy is required to restore 
data protected by digital rights management technologies 
(DRM).

It may happen that the hard drive becomes corrupted and 
needs to be formatted to be fully functional again. Formatting 
removes all the data from the hard drive. Formatting the 
hard drive increases the demand on battery power. It is 
advisable not to use your device for anything else and 
connect it to a charger and keep the charger connected 
while your device formats the hard drive.

a previously formatted disk and if you are sure the disk is
