Automatic Operation Simplifies the Solution
The 42PD3 offers a programmable timer that allows the monitor to
virtually operate itself. Accessible via the On-Screen Menu System,
the timer can be programmed to power on, power off, switch
input sources or enable the AccuShield System without ever
touching the monitor. This can alleviate the need to train
personnel in the operation of the 42PD3 and provide considerable
savings when deploying large numbers of displays.
External Control and Self Diagnostics
A complete set of RS232 commands allow all monitor functions
to be operated remotely via serial communication. Plus, the
42PD3 can identify operating problems and communicate them
via RS232 or front bezel led lights through its self-diagnostics
system.
An Inverse mode will display inverted RGB values that will
even the amount of wear on the screens phosphor.
126”
84”
Thin Bezel Design
At just over 1” thick the 42PD3 bezel is thin enough to enable a video
wall configuration with minimal interference to the screen image.
Anti-Glare Screen Improves Readability
Anti-glare screen filter makes the screen readable even in the difficult
lighting conditions common to many public environments.
Create a Self-Contained Solution
The 42PD3’s cabinet design provides a space to install a small form-
factor PC inside the monitor. This unique capability can solve the
problem of where to put your source equipment when you install the
monitor in a public setting. Plus, a cable management system allows you
to conceal cabling and input panels for a clean appearance in wall or
ceiling mount installations.  This prevents the need to add a costly
enclosure to achieve the desired aesthetic look.
Engage Your Audience with a 126” Image
The 42PD3’s built-in matrix display capabilities allow you to easily
create a 2x2 or 3x3 video wall which gives you the flexibility to hang
a bigger-than life image right on the wall.  All you have to do is
mount the monitors and connect them via signal loop-through*.
Setup is completed quickly and easily via the On-Screen menu
system which provides options for splitting or blanking the image.
Splitting displays the image so that none of it is obscured by the
bezel, ensuring that all data is visible.  Blanking displays it across the
entire screen, concealing the parts of the image that would overlap
the bezels to create a natural looking image.  Either way, it is a
simple and cost effective way to create an impressively large image.
* Signal splitter is required for optimal results in a 9-screen.
AccuShield
Phosphor Protection System
NEC’s exclusive AccuShield Phosphor Protection System is the industry’s most comprehensive set of built-
in operating modes to help prevent or reduce the occurrence of image retention. AccuShield gives you 5
choices to combat phosphor burn:
• Inverse RGB
• Pre-set Orbiter
• Brightness Limiter
• Programmable Orbiter
• All-White Screen
The programmable orbiter provides variable ranges of movement and speed to better calibrate the image
motion to different types of content.  The AccuShield System can increase the usable life of your monitor
when used in conjunction with prescribed operating methods and content creation.
