Network Timing Protocol
Network Timing Protocol (NTP) support allows you to set the 5100/6100 VDR to receive
network timing from a server within your local network.
Setting the NTP server
You can set the 5100/6100 VDR to use an NTP server in your network by issuing the set ntp
server command.
Syntax: set ntp server <IP address>
Argument:
Syntax: set ntp server <IP address>
Argument:
IP address the address of the NTP server in standard notation
Example:
In this example, the NTP server IP address is set to 172.14.16.1.
Setting the NTP time zone
You can set NTP time zone by issuing the set ntp timezone command.
Syntax: set ntp timezone <timezone>
Argument:
Syntax: set ntp timezone <timezone>
Argument:
timezone
+/- 12 from UCT; default = 0
Example:
In this example, the time zone parameter is set for Pacific Standard Time, which is –7
Coordinated Universal Time (UCT).
