User administration commands
Table 2-4 lists the user administration commands.
Setting users
You can define up to five users for the 5100/6100 VDR system by issuing the set user add 
command. You need to enter the new user’s name first. You can also assign the access level when 
you issue the command. Next, you enter and confirm the password. If an access level is not 
specified, it defaults to read. This command is restricted to users with root privileges.
Syntax: set user add <username> [access level]
Arguments:
username
an alphanumeric string of up to 15 characters and is case sensitive.
access level root, writeall, writevoice, writedata, writelink, or read (optional)
password
a case sensitive alphanumeric string of up to 15 characters
Example:
In this example, the new user, emmett_otter, is added with read only privileges. After the user and 
access level are set, the 5100/6100 VDR prompts the administrator for a password for the new 
user. The CLI does not display the password as the administrator enters it for security reasons.
