In this example, the SDSL WAN encapsulation is set to 1483Routed to interoperate with a Lucent 

Stinger. You also need to commit and save the changes and then reset the unit.

You can set the WAN data protocol to interoperate within your network by issuing the set wan 

data protocol command. The choices of protocols include: funi, atm, ppp, and mlppp. Funi 

provides users with the ability to connect among ATM networks and existing frame-based 

equipment (such as routers and Copper Mountain DSLAMs and T1 aggregators). You will only 

be able to view the data protocols that are applicable to your VDR model.
Syntax: set wan data protocol <ppp | mlppp | funi | atm>
Argument:

ppp | mlppp | funi | atm

funi supports Copper Mountain T1 aggregator interoperability; atm supports 

Lucent Stinger SDSL interoperability; ppp is available for models that have one or 

two T1 WAN ports; mlppp is available for models that have two T1 WAN ports
