SES Threshold:  Choose the number of errors per second in order to consider the 
second as Severely Errored. Use the G.821 default value, corresponding at 10-3 
when no specific value is requested.   
DM Threshold: Choose the number of errors per minute in order to consider the 
minute ad Degraded. Use the G.821 default value when no specific value is 
requested. In the last G.821 recommendation issue, DM result has been cancelled 
from the recommendation but, the device implements the DM measure anyway. 
HRX(%): Enter the variation percentage for the acceptability threshold according to 
the type of call (e.g. National or International).   
If test fails then: Select the action to be taken by the device in case of threshold 
acceptability overcoming, you can shot down the link ending the test, maintain it 
active or continue the test ignoring the result. Used for call routing search.     
Auto print: Select the autoprint condition in order to send the test results over RS232 
serial port, e.g. to download them to a PC.   
•  time interval: 15 or 30 minutes 
•  DM: when the DM threshold value is overcame 
•  End of cycle: results are printed when each cycle ends 
•  End of cycle if fails: results are printed at the end of the cycle, only if  this has 
ended with FAIL result. 
Duration: Choose the duration of the test from the predefined list or define your own 
duration.    
Measurement cycles: Set the number of tests the instrument has to do on the 
network. Is only active in Outgoing 64k/56K mode. Set together with the pause 
between cycles.  
Pause between cycles: Set the pause between two tests in seconds. Set together 
with the measurement cycles.   
3.5.2.  Running a BER test  
When you have defined the setup for the BER test, continue as follows:
