This section explains the ports, cables, connections and hardware used to get you started. For 
more information and connection options see the next section on Using the V212/V212x. 

CAUTION: Before turning the device on for the first time, charge the battery fully for five (5) 
hours. Otherwise, the service life of the battery may be reduced. 

1. Put the battery in the device.

2. Close the battery latch.

3. Connect the AC power cord to the AC/DC 

power adapter. Plug the adapter to the 
device.

4. Plug the AC power cord to an AC power 

source such as a wall outlet.

5. Leave the device alone so the battery can 

fully charge for five (5) hours.

CAUTION: After the initial charge is 

complete, you can use the battery without 
the AC power cord; be sure to close the 
battery latch so the power can turn on. 
Or, you can use the supplied AC/DC 
power adapter plugged into an AC power 
source to charge, recharge, and/or 
operate the device.

WARNING!  Do not leave the battery in the device unattended for over one week: the battery
may discharge completely and not recharge properly. Either recharge the battery or remove the
battery from the device. If storing the battery outside the device for prolonged periods of time, re-
charge the battery every 30 - 60 days. For more information on battery charging and operation,
see the Battery Power & Properties section of this guide.

An optional V212/V212x docking station, described later in this manual, may also be used to 
charge, recharge, and/or operate your V212/V212x.
