The Certance CP 3100 is a new family of 
disk-to-disk-to-tape (D2D2T) solutions for 
small-to-medium businesses (SMBs) seeking 
reliable, cost-effective enhanced backup, 
restore and archive performance. Offering 
up to 320 gigabytes (GB) native capacity, 
and scalable to one terabyte (TB), the CP 
3100 boasts sustained native transfer rates of 
up to 22 MB/sec, or 7-10x that of typical 
standalone SMB tape drives, making 
possible “lunchtime backup.”

The Certance CP 3100 provides high-end 
D2D2T functionality at an SMB-affordable 
price point with simplified installation, 
operation and management. The CP 3100 
provides 100% emulation of DAT 72 and 
DDS-4 tape drives, dynamically configuring 
itself to emulate the attached tape drive for 
easy operation. The CP 3100 automatically 
migrates data from disk to tape for remote 
archiving, without intervention from the 
host or the need for additional software. 
The CP 3100 enables remote setup, 
management and monitoring via its 
embedded web server from any web 
browser.

The CP 3100 from Certance is available in 
five unique configurations to satisfy 
different customer requirements. Customers 
who prefer a turnkey solution can choose 
between a desktop or 1U rack-mount 
solution with an integrated Certance DAT 
72 tape drive. Those who already have a 
DDS-4 or DAT 72 tape drive, from any 
manufacturer, can build their own D2D2T 
solution by combining a 5 1/4" half-height 
internal, desktop or 1U rack-mount 
solution with their existing tape drive 
investment. All CP 3100 solutions include 
Yosemite TapeWare XE server backup 
software, the Certance Resource CD and a 
limited 1-year warranty.
