simple and functional way for an organization to install or upgrade a network backbone to Fast Ethernet
or Gigabit Ethernet technology. High port density means that a single VOL-5000 containing eight slots can
support up to 64 Fast Ethernet ports or 8 Gigabit Ethernet ports. For higher port density, three VOL-5000
switches can be stacked together using the VOL-4100-S stacking modules. The VOL-5000’s modular
capabilities allow a multitude of possible configurations consisting of Ethernet, Fast Ethernet,
and Gigabit Ethernet.
