Using the IEEE 802.11b (Wireless LAN)

Confirming the Connection

AAAA

Make sure the LED of the IEEE
802.11b card is lit.

❖ When using in Infrastracture Mode

If the IEEE 802.11b card is work-

ing, it is lit in orange. If the IEEE
802.11b (wireless LAN) is not select-
ed, it does not light, even if the print-
er power is on.

If it is connected properly to a net-

work, the LED is green in infrastruc-
ture mode. When the LED is blinking,
the machine is searching for devices.

❖ When using in Ad hoc Mode/802.11

Ad hoc Mode

If the IEEE 802.11b card is work-

ing, it is lit in orange.

If it is connected properly to a net-

work, the LED is in green in ad hoc
mode or 802.11 ad hoc mode. When
the LED is blinking, the machine is
searching for devices. The LED will
light after a few seconds.

Use a Web Browser to check the
printer is connected properly. See
p.88 “Configuring the Network

Browser”.

Print the configuration page to
verify settings.

Infrastructure Mode

You can check the Wireless LAN Sig-
nal using the machine's control panel.

Press [System Settings].

Press [Interface Settings].

Press [IEEE 802.11b].

Press [Wireless LAN Signal].

Make sure that settings are com-
plete, and then press [Exit].
