TROUBLESHOOTING & PARTS
Service problems that appear to be major can often be solved easily. You can be your own troubleshooter by reviewing this guide.
All other servicing should be done by an ORECK authorized service center.

What To Do
Unit has no power.
• Appliance is not properly plugged      
   into an electrical outlet or is not 
   switched on.
• The electrical socket is faulty.
• Insert plug into an electrical outlet and switch the steam cleaner on.
• Check the socket by unplugging the steam cleaner and plugging it 
   into a different electrical socket.
Brushroll is not 
turning.
• Large debris has clogged the inlet.
• Large debris has stopped the    
  brushroll.
• Clean debris from inlet.
• If the brushroll becomes clogged, brushroll will stop and the   
  “BRUSHROLL” light will flash.  Unplug the unit and clear the   
  obstruction and turn the selector switch off.  If the obstruction is 
  clear, the brushroll will start when the switch is turned back to 
  the “Brushroll” mode.
Brushroll Indicator is 
flashing.
• Debris has blocked the brushroll 
   from turning.
• Brushroll is free to move.
• Remove obstruction. Turn unit off using the function selector 
   switch then turn unit back on.
• Turn unit off using the function selector switch then turn unit 
   back on. If flashing continues, Contact an Oreck Authorized 
   Service Center.
Vacuum does not 
pick up.
• Dirt Cup is full.
• Large Debris has clogged inlet.
• Filter needs cleaning.
• Brushroll is not turning.
• Brushroll is worn.
• Empty Dirt Cup.
• Clean debris from inlet.
• See Filter Maintenance Section (page 5).
• See above in Troubleshooting Guide.
• Contact Oreck Authorized Service Center.
Very low or no 
steam is emitted 
when the steam 
cleaner is on.
• The tank is empty.
• Trigger is not depressed.
• Steam function is not selected.
• Steam Ready Indicator is not lit.
• Hard Water Filter needs replacing.
• Make sure water tank is full of water.
• Pull steam trigger to activate pump.
• Verify function selector is set to “STEAM.”
• Wait for Indicator to light. If it does not turn on after 1 minute, 
Contact Oreck Authorized Service Center.
• See “Replacing the Hard Water Filter” Section (page 5).
Steamer still does not 
operate properly.
• Check all the above points.
• Contact Oreck Authorized Service Center.
