Loading the Firmware Code Tape
To load the firmware tape:
1.
Drives are located at the bottom of the library. Move the picker away from its
lowest position, so that you can access the drives:

Carefully insert the tape into the drive with the write-protect tab facing out and

Preparing the Library
1.
Power off the library.
2.
Disconnect the SCSI cable from the back of the library.
3.
Move the library to a position that provides easy access to the front and rear of
the library.

Locate the configuration switches on the rear of the library, and write down the
settings of the library configuration switch and the SCSI ID switch.

5.
Use a small screwdriver to turn the library configuration switch to 4 and the
library SCSI ID switch to 7.

Loading the New Firmware
1.
With the library door open and the picker away from its lowest position, power
on the library. The library begins the firmware update process, during which time
the picker parks at the bottom of the library, and its LED turns amber for the
duration of the firmware upgrade. This process typically requires less than five
minutes.

When the drive ejects the tape, the upgrade is complete; remove the tape from
the drive.
