Product Overview
The Intel® RAID Controller SASUC8I is ideal for servers and workstations needing
high-speed data transfer with the option for entry-level hardware RAID data
protection. This RAID controller allows for point-to-point connections with a SAS
universal interconnect interface allowing for 1.5 and 3Gb/s SATA hard disk drives
along with logical SCSI compatibility for the extra reliability and manageability
that SAS drives provide.

While other SAS controllers drive large RAID software stacks between the
host CPU and controller, the SASUC8I utilizes the embedded CPU in the LSI
host CPU and controller, the SASUC8I utilizes the embedded CPU in the LSI
SAS1068E ASIC to perform RAID 0, 1, and 1E/10E operations. By
reducing RAID code overhead, the SASUC8I offers superior internal
READ/WRITE performance.
