If correct focus cannot be obtained
The camera's auto-focus may not able to focus on the subject in the cases 
shown below (e.g. when the subject is not in the center of the frame, when the 
subject has lower contrast than its surroundings, etc.). If this happens, the 
easiest solution is to use focus lock.

Position the AF frame on the 
subject you want to focus on.
The AF confirmation mark blinks.
The subject cannot be brought into focus.
Subject with low contrast
Excessively bright light 
in center of frame
Subject with repeated 
patterns
The AF mark stays lit, but the subject cannot be brought into focus.
Subjects at different 
distances
