The index is stored as a still picture in a different record mode from the 
original movie.

 

The interval between the frames that are automatically selected for the 
index varies depending on the length of the movie.

You can protect important movies to avoid accidentally erasing them. 
Protected movies cannot be erased by the single-frame/all-frame erase 
function.
