Chapter 6  Managing MeetingPlace Web
Polling Interval. The polling interval determines how often
(in hours, minutes, and seconds) polling occurs.
In most applications, you should set the polling interval to 1
to 5 minutes for frequent updates of MeetingPlace Web sites.
Retry Interval. This section contains information regarding
the number of times the system should attempt to make a
connection and the amount of time between these connection
attempts:
Number of retries. Enter the number of times you want
the MeetingPlace Web server to retry in case of a
connection failure.
Retry intervals in seconds. Enter the number of seconds
you want the MeetingPlace Web server to wait between
retries.
User Profile Update Intervals
MeetingPlace Web replicates the user profile and group
information independently from meeting information.
You can specify how often the local profile database on the
MeetingPlace Web server should be updated. In general, the
interval should match how often you update the profile database
in MeetingPlace.
For example, if you have a process to import your human
resources database into MeetingPlace once a week, you should
set the User Profile Update Interval to 7 days. For nightly
updates, set the User Profile Update Interval to 1.
Update and Purge Buttons
In general, the update and purge buttons perform actions that
MeetingPlace Web usually handles automatically. However, in
the event of a system failure, you can choose to invoke these
operations manually. These buttons include:
