Once a user has joined a web conference using MeetingPlace 
WebShare, the Share Application button may be missing for the 
following reasons: 

1.   A user is attending a lecture-style meeting as either a guest or 

a profile user without speaking ability. Users will not see the 
Share Application or Take Control buttons.

2.  A user is a Macintosh or UNIX system user. Only Windows 

system users may host a web conference via MeetingPlace 
Web. 

3.  An Internet Explorer user chose not to accept the 

MeetingPlace Web certificate.

The user’s version of Microsoft Java Virtual Machine (JVM) 
may be outdated. Make sure the user’s system has a 
supported Java Virtual Machine. Refer to page 275 for more 
details.

If a user has connected to the web conference server but is unable 
to share a document because the NetMeeting sharing button is 
disabled or the user cannot launch NetMeeting from 
MeetingPlace Web, refer to the following two sections. 

If a Windows user is unable to share a document because the 
NetMeeting Share button is disabled, the default configuration of 
their NetMeeting client may need to be changed.

Some of the Windows operating systems ship with the sharing 
capabilities of NetMeeting turned off. To turn on sharing 
capabilities, go to the Tools menu in NetMeeting, select Enable 
Sharing, and then restart the system.
