Appendix C  Upgrading an Existing MeetingPlace Web
Upgrading MeetingPlace Web
To upgrade MeetingPlace Web:
1.  Close the MeetingPlace Gateway Configurations interface.
To close this interface, right-click on the MeetingPlace icon
located in the status area of the task bar, and select Close.
If the MeetingPlace icon is not displayed in the task bar, you
probably have an older version of MeetingPlace Web
installed. The MeetingPlace Gateway Configurations
interface does need to be shut down in this case.
2.  Back up any MeetingPlace Web pages and images that have
been customized. These pages are located in the /template, /
html, and /images directories.
3.  To upgrade from MeetingPlace Web (version 4.2.0 or later),
run the Setup Program, and follow the installation process
described in Chapter 5.
Using the SQLInstall Utility to Create a New Database or Repair an
Existing Database
The MeetingPlace Web installation automatically creates a blank
mpweb.mdf database and configures MeetingPlace Web and
Microsoft ODBC to use this database. No additional steps are
typically required for most installations and upgrades.
In some situations, you may need to run the SQLInstall.exe utility
manually if you want to create or delete a database on the SQL
Server or if you need to repair an existing database.
Note: GUIDS entries for site and system must match on internal/
external and primary/secondary servers. Ensure that the
GUIDS.reg file has been run on external/secondary Windows
servers prior to upgrading your MeetingPlace Web. Refer to
page 51 for instructions on running the GUIDS.reg file on
external/secondary Windows servers.
