How to Get Unique ID and
Virtual Unique ID Information

Prior to Cisco Prime
™ Infrastructure 2.2 (PI 2.1 and earlier) versions, all licenses
were node-locked (Base, Lifecycle, Assurance Licenses)
Each node (Cisco
®
Prime Infrastructure server) is identified by:
− Unique Device ID (UID) in the case of physical appliances
− Virtual UID (VUID) in the case of virtual appliances
− Virtual UID (VUID) in the case of virtual appliances
You will need to have the UID or VUID available when you redeem licenses.
Beginning with PI 2.2 and continuing to PI 3.0, all licenses come with no node
lock (Base, Lifecycle, Assurance, UCS

UID and VUID are no longer used
You no longer need UID or VUID for ordering licenses
