Cisco Acano X-series

1 Introduction

The Cisco Meeting Server was formerly called the Acano Server. The Cisco Meeting Server is
now hosted on a new preconfigured version of a Cisco UCS server, called the Cisco Meeting
Server 1000. It can also be hosted on the Acano X-Series hardware, or on a specification based
VM server.

The Cisco Meeting Server is very secure, most of the services and applications running on the
server use the TLS cryptyographic protocol for communication. TLS allows communicating
parties to exchange X.509 certificates and public keys in order authenticate the other party, and
exchange encryption algorithms to encrypt data transmitted between the parties.

This Certificate Guidelines document explains how to create and install certificates for a Single
Combined Server deployment.

Note: The Cisco Meeting Server software is referred to as the Meeting Server throughout the
remainder of this guide.

deploy certificates across the Meeting Server deployment. Skip this if you are already familiar
