Headend System

products provide users with a verti-
cally-oriented, compact, full featured
ensemble of headend functions.  The
highest performing headend products
available—regardless of size or pack-
aging style—are supported by this
product family.  Users can configure
their applications for the highest 
reliability by using integrated auto-
matic back-up controls and Plug and
Play modules.

The compact Continuum Headend
System chassis is 5 RU in height, 
and mounts in all standard EIA
racks.  The Continuum Chassis cre-
ates a platform for a variety of head-
end functions such as modulation,
demodulation, encoding monitoring
and control.  

A chassis houses one controller and
up to eight application modules.
Numerous types of application
modules are available, and different
types can co-exist within the same
chassis.  All modules are field
installable and replaceable.  The
Continuum Headend System appli-
cation modules support all NTSC
and PAL video and audio formats.
