up Out-of-Band to InBand Translator (OIT) bridges depending on the
types of DHCTs used in your system. This chapter provides
procedures for setting up the OIT bridges on the PowerKEY DVB
System.
The purpose of the OIT is to provide inband data on the PowerKEY
DVB System. This inband data will be used in headend systems that
require support for broadcast-only DHCTs. The OIT merely provides
an additional inband data path for system information.

OIT data will be encapsulated into MPEG transport streams that will
be written to an ASI card. The Direct ASI Card is currently used in the
PowerKEY DVB System by the BFS and OSM processes. The OIT will
share the Direct ASI Card with the BFS and OSM streams.
