Starting the Alarm Manager Server
After installing the Alarm Manager server software or after the server has rebooted,
wait at least one minute before starting the Alarm Manager server software. This is
because the Alarm Manager server software cannot be started until the Alarm
Manager daemon is running. Then, follow these instructions to start the Alarm
Manager server.
Note: You should still be logged in to the Alarm Manager server as root user.
1 From an xterm window on the Alarm Manager server, use the UNIX cd

1 From an xterm window on the Alarm Manager server, use the UNIX cd
command to change to the directory into which you installed the Alarm Manager
server software.
Example: If you installed the Alarm Manager software into the /export/home

directory, type cd /export/home and then press Enter.

2 Type ./EMS and then press Enter. The DBDS EMS Server Administration Login
window opens.

3 Follow these instructions to log in to the Alarm Manager server.
a In the Login Name field, type System and then press Tab.
b In the Password field, type System.
c Click OK.
Result: The DBDS EMS Server Administration window opens.
