How to Edit a Template
You can edit any template to change its layout or SQL statement.
As noted in Chapter 4, do not modify a Cisco-provided template unless you save it as a new (custom)
template. If you modify a Cisco template and save it with the same name, that template is no longer
supported.

If you change a Cisco template and forget to rename it before you save it, you can revert to the original
Cisco template by running the PATCHPBL utility. See

If you intend to keep the modification as a custom template, be sure to rename it before you run

To edit a template
Step 1
Set the current library file:

From the InfoMaker main window, on the toolbar, click Sel Lib. The Select Library dialog box
opens.

Browse to and double-click the library you want to set as the current library. The Select Library
dialog box closes.

Step 2
From the InfoMaker main window, on the toolbar, click Open. The Open dialog box opens, displaying
the list of templates in the current library.

Step 3
Select the template you want to modify and click OK. The template opens in the Report Painter.
When prompted, enter retrieval arguments to display data, or click Cancel to open the template with no
data.

Step 4
Make desired SQL Statement modifications.
There are two ways to open the SQL from the Report Painter:

From the Report Painter, click the SQL Data button.
•
From the Report Painter menu, select Design > Data Source.
