Active Directory Model
Effective with Release 5.0(0), ICM software requires the use of the Windows
2000 Active Directory service and Domain Name System (DNS) to maintain the
Active Directory model. This means that you must specify a preferred and an
alternate DNS server. See the documents Cisco ICM Windows 2000 Planning
Guide
and Cisco ICM Windows 2000 Staging Guide for more information.
Note
ICM Release 6.0(0) supports Windows 2003 Active Directory where Domain
Controllers are dedicated servers (that is, not running any ICM application).
TCP/IP Configuration
To set up IP addresses for Windows 2000 nodes, use the TCP/IP Properties dialog
box. To display this dialog box, go to the Windows 2000 Start menu and choose
Settings > Network and Dialup Connections > Local Area Connection. In the
Local Area Connection Status window, click on Properties. Select Internet
Protocol (TCP/IP) and click on Properties.
Select “Use the following IP address.” Enter the IP address and click OK. To enter
additional IP addresses, open the TCP/IP Properties window again and click the
Advanced button. The Advanced TCP/IP Settings window allows you to enter
additional IP addresses.
