Intel Server Chassis SC5250-E to dramatically reduce system level acoustics making it an

Do not install the Intel® Workstation Acoustic Kit in systems with only one processor. This kit is 
designed for two-processor systems. If you only have one processor installed, the large opening 
left by the second processor and heat sink will reduce the airflow through the single processor’s 
heat sink and may cause the system to overheat.  
 
The following items are included in the kit: 

•  Two heat sinks 
•  A flexible air duct 
•  Four plastic retention mechanisms (two per heat sink) 
•  Eight coarse- thread screws (two per retention mechanism) 
•  Four metal retention clips (two per heat sink) for 400 Mhz FSB processors 
•  Four metal retention clips (two per heat sink) for 533 Mhz FSB processors 
•  Four nylon rivets for air duct attachment to rear system fan 
•  Four plastic spacers 
•  Eight fine-thread screws (two per spacer) 

 
Install the Retention Brackets (two per heat sink) that came with your Intel® Workstation 
Acoustic Kit. Use the screws that came with the kit. Note that all the Retention Brackets are 
identical.
